Dr. Leier was Board-certified in orthopedic and trauma surgery in Germany and is residency and fellowship trained in pain management, sports medicine and pediatrics in the United States. His pain management strategies combine all non-operative approaches – from detailed functional rehabilitation and acupuncture, to ultrasound and fluoroscopy-guided, minimally-invasive procedures, such as epidural steroid injections and radiofrequency ablation.
He is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, International Neuromodulation Society, Pacific Pain and Spine Society, American Society of Pain and Neuroscience and German Sports Medicine Association.
Dr. Leier is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Riverside and received a Ph.D. for his research work on the effect of minimal invasive shock-wave therapy on chronic pain conditions of the musculoskeletal system. He has published and presented exclusively in the field of Pain Management and Orthopedics at national and international meetings. He completed his Sports Medicine training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, Pain Management training at Harvard Medical School and Acupuncture training at Stanford University.
